Vintage Perry Ellis: 1979 & 1980


 More prints from a friend's collection of vintage Perry Ellis original watercolors.
Collections are Summer 1979 and a 1980 fashion collection titled "Party and Parting" with swatches intact.

Summer 1979.  Cursive in lower right reads "Cotton - Poplin Windbreak -

1980.  Upper left cursive reads "French Angora sleeveless capelet crew -w- Silk taffeta tucked yoke riding skirt.
Wool Shetland cable-sleeved crew - evening white -w- dark garnet velveteen golfers.
Black french angora strapless cable front peplum -w- plaid silk taffeta riding skirt.

  2. She had a similar collection of fabric swatches and sketches, although not nearly as pristine. It’s fascinating to see the origin of trends that still influence fashion today. Sometimes, when I feel nostalgic for simpler creative outlets, I turn to something like Infinite Craft to just experiment and build things digitally. It's a surprisingly relaxing way to explore possibilities. The artistry displayed here is just incredible; it’s a reminder of the meticulous detail and thought that used to go into clothing design. I wish more designers embraced this level of commitment now.
