Haute Style On A Budget

A bit of wisdom from a 1960s fashion guide:

Often an inexpensive dress or suit can be upgraded with an expensive accessory.
But if you have an expensive dress, and wear cheap accessories,
your good dress will be cheapened as a result.

Case in point:
This 1958 Vogue model wears a slim shift dress that cost (at the time) only $13 from the moderately priced Koret of California, an everywoman's ready-to-wear label from the 1960s. Her bag however, is Josef from Bergdorf Goodman, the renown upper crust New York destination. A smart pairing for a completely new look on a budget!
